Clinical Trials Support Centre Academy

The cornerstone of an efficient, professional clinical trials centre is its experienced and qualified personnel. As experts in their respective fields, doctors, nurses, and support staff are a prerequisite for high quality clinical trial performance. They are directly responsible for patient safety and comfort, reliability of the data and ultimately – for the success of the entire research project.

One of the priorities in systematic training and education of research teams is planning and implementation of periodic training programmes dedicated to staff as part of the Clinical Trials Support Centre Academy. These sessions are delivered by experts sharing their knowledge about how to conduct clinical trials.

“Let’s Share Knowledge” training programme

Clinical Trials Support Centres employ qualified staff experienced in conducting clinical trials. However, each Centre specialises in a slightly different set of research topics and focuses on different aspects of clinical work. This is a very important issue from the point of view of the Polish Clinical Trials Network, whose aim is to facilitate cooperation between Centres, foster experience sharing, and promote a positive outlook on working together in future projects.

Sharing past experience and knowledge can be a valuable source of information to all PCTN’s partner institutions, not only because it promotes effective operation of the Centres, but also because it allows to determine specific areas of close cooperation with individual CTSCs that will ensure the achievement of the anticipated results. Joint operation of all CTSCs is indispensable in order to ensure an efficient and fast development of the clinical trials industry, both on the level of individual sites and countrywide.

As part of the “Let’s Share Knowledge” training programme, CTSCs are expected to deliver one training a year on a topic of their choice associated with clinical trials. The topic should be relevant to the CTSC’s operations and be presented in a clear and informative manner. By participating in the training, research teams will improve their skills and have an opportunity to network with other members of the PCTN.

The Medical Research Agency also organises other training programmes for professionals from the clinical trials sector. Additional educational measures support the Network and are especially addressed to employees of CTSCs.
