Medical University of Bialystok
The 15th of June 2022 saw the opening of a Clinical Trials Support Centre at the Medical University of Bialystok, co-created by: the University, Medical University of Bialystok Clinical Hospital and Medical University of Bialystok Children’s Clinical Hospital. The new CTSC will help standardise and streamline procedures, and ultimately increase the number and variety of both commercial and non-commercial clinical trials conducted at the University’s teaching hospitals. The project required modernising and adapting some of the facilities, purchasing software necessary to manage the CTSC and conduct clinical trials, and hiring qualified administrative and medical personnel. In the long term, the goal is to promote the University and its hospitals as venues capable of initiating and performing clinical trials that best serve the interests of patients.
Principal advantages:
- In the years 2010–2019, the University was involved in a total of 392 clinical trials, of which 386 were commercial and 6 non-commercial.
- The CTSC is expected to perform approx. 170 clinical trials a year.
- Advanced infrastructure based on own resources and those of the teaching hospitals.
