Medical University of Gdansk
A state-of-the-art academic facility which has been providing high quality education in all medical professions and carrying out world class scientific research since 1945. The clinical potential of the University lies in its medical facility University Clinical Center (UCC). The establishment of a Clinical Trials Support Centre is meant to consolidate the measures undertaken to enhance the quality of both commercial and non-commercial clinical trials and make new therapies and treatment regimens more accessible to patients. The Centre is also going to establish an academic CRO (ARO) whose primary task will be handling academic research, but also liaising with entrepreneurs who may take on the role of commercial sponsors. The CTSC will be an open facility capable of securing the means necessary to support clinical research initiatives in the region.
Principal advantages:
- One of the largest beneficiaries of the Medical Research Agency’s calls for proposals who support non-commercial clinical trials (in 2022: leader in 15 projects, consortium member in 5 projects).
- University Clinical Center (UCC) is one of the largest hospitals in Poland, with nearly 3,800 employees and 120,000 patients annually.
- UCC has carried out over 460 clinical trials (including more than 20 non-commercial ones).
