The CTSC’s potential lies in the three clinical hospitals of the University: Independent Public Teaching Hospital No 1 in Lublin, Independent Public Teaching Hospital No 4 in Lublin and Children's Hospital of Lublin. The CTSC of Uniwersytet Medyczny w Lublinie will be a strategic contribution to the advancement of scientific research through clinical resources and to the development of the Polish healthcare system, which strives to improve results while optimising costs of healthcare services. The establishment of the CTSC, equipped with a suitable infrastructure, a well-ordered and effective organisational structure, clear processes set forth in operating procedures that ensure functionality, continued operations and integrity of activities, as well as good systemic solutions including tools for efficient project management and PR, will be the most important step towards building competitive capacity in clinical trials on a world scale.
Principal advantages:
- In the years 2016–2020, the University’s clinical hospitals conducted 209 commercial and 11 non-commercial clinical trials.
- Most trials (approx. 60%) are phase 3 clinical trials, followed by phase 2 (23%), phase 1 (15%), and a small percentage of phase 4 trials (2%).
- An Early Phase Centre, which will help make investigational therapies more accessible to Polish patients.
