TheMedical Research Agency is launching a call for non-commercial clinical trials (ABM/2022/1).
The main objective of the call is the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic methods in different fields of medicine with premiums for oncological diseases, childhood diseases (including infants, newborns and prenatal stages), old age diseases, infectious diseases and their complications, e. g. in the form of postcovid syndrome, and immunological diseases. diseases.
Achieving the objective of the call will make it possible to improve patients' access to complex, interdisciplinary and, above all, innovative diagnostics, care and therapy. In addition, the expected result of the call is the consolidation of the environment of scientists and clinicians.
Projects submitted to the call must have the status of a non-commercial clinical trial to evaluate the effects of a medicinal product.
The Rules of Procedure provide for the financing of non-commercial clinical trials for the development of new diagnostic methods when they are developed in the context of a clinical trial of a medicinal product.
This call introduces a requirement to bank biological material for later use for scientific, diagnostic and epidemiological purposes, in particular for whole genomic sequencing or exome sequencing (see Section 3. 1. 4. 1 Banking Biological Material of the Call Rules).
The call also requires that the application be accompanied by a draft protocol for a clinical trial.
The selection is aimed at institutions such as: universities; associations of actors in the higher education and scientific system; NAP; Scientific institutes of the PAN; research institutes; international scientific institutes; Centre for Postgraduate Medical Education; medical establishments run by a public medical university or a university engaged in teaching and research activities in the field of medical sciences or a postgraduate medical training centre; enterprises having the status of a research and development centre; Research and development actors able to carry out projects in the form of non-commercial clinical trials.
The collection of applications in the system takes:
- Round 1: 17 January 2022 from 12:01:00 o’clock to 17 March 2022 at 12:00:59 o’clock
- Round II: from 17 March 2022 from 12:01:00 to 17 May 2022 at 12:00:59.
The application shall only be submitted in the form of an electronic document using the electronic system available on the Agency’s website https://konkurs. abm. gov. pl/#/.
