Ministry of Health and Medical Research Agency invite to the "Cancer Prevention 2020" Conference

Cancer prevention is one of the most important issues of the cancer treatment policy of the Government and countries of the European Union, Western Europe and also of the United States - stresses Radosław Sierpiński, MD, PhD, acting President of the Medical Research Agency during initiation of the "Cancer Prevention 2020" Conference.

The problem of malignant neoplasms is one of the most serious health challenges that the Polish health care system has to face. Each year malignant tumours affect 160 thousand people and cause death of 100 thousand people. It is estimated that in the next 5 years the number of cancer patients may increase by 15 percent.

The aim of the conference is to exchange experiences in the area of implemented anti-cancer strategies in Poland and around the world, with particular emphasis on activities in the field of cancer prevention. As highlighted by the Minister of Health, prof. Łukasz Szumowski - the Conference will be attended by the best specialists and we will discuss with them how to implement anti-cancer strategies in Poland and what should the Polish cancer plan look like.

During the conference initiated by the Medical Research Agency the issues related to the use of modern technologies in diagnosing and treatment of cancers as well as to the health care system in the area of oncology will be discussed. The Conference will also provide an opportunity to discuss the possibility of implementation of research and development projects in the scope of oncological prevention, financed by the Medical Research Agency.

The "Cancer Prevention 2020" Conference will join national and international experts in the common idea of developing the best solutions and improving the current system in the scope of clinical and research practices provided to Polish patients. Representatives of patient organisations, leading specialists from Polish cancer centres and also representatives of University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center will share their knowledge in this field.

The "Cancer Prevention 2020" Conference will take place on 18 September 2019 in the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Warsaw. Registration takes place via the registration form on the website: http://cancerprevention.pl/rejestracja/

The conference is held under the honorary patronage of Andrzej Duda, the President of the Republic of Poland.
