Polish accession to the European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (ECRIN)

During the 29th Economic Forum in Krynica-Zdrój, through the Medical Research Agency, Poland will sign an agreement with the European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network (ECRIN). The undertaken actions will enable Poland to obtain the status of an observer and then of a member of the ECRIN network, which is an international agency that promotes a network of clinical research in Europe.

International character of cooperation affects the accessibility of research for the patient, of the resources and specialist knowledge, thus stimulating public health condition of the countries that cooperate within the network. The goals of ECRIN include improving the health of citizens in the whole world through support of international clinical research projects, to which it offers its integrated support.

ECRIN focuses mainly on supporting non-commercial (academic) projects of clinical research, providing all the tools necessary to prepare and implement research (e.g. financial counselling and applications for financing or designing the research from the moment the centre is selected to logistic operations or insuring), verification of protocol (both in scientific and practical context) and research management (obtaining official approvals and bioethical opinions, reporting, monitoring, data management, statistics and project management).

The agreement will be signed during the 29th Economic Forum in Krynica, during the panel titled "Research and development in biotechnology as a leading branch of the country's innovative economy", that will take place on 4 September.
