The second workshop of the first edition of The Polish Clinical Scholars Research Training program has started

On April 9, another four-day workshop began in Warsaw as part of the first edition of The Polish Clinical Scholars Research Training program, designed and implemented by Harvard Medical School Postgraduate Medical Education for the Medical Research Agency.

The program began in the fall of 2023 in Warsaw, where the first workshop implemented under the PCSRT Program was held. The final, third workshop of this edition will take place in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. In addition, the program is also being implemented online. Within its framework, one hundred Polish researchers and scientists have the opportunity to participate in webinars, as well as use virtual tools for self-study. As a result, participants can develop their skills in the effective publication of scientific papers and implementation of research projects, which significantly improves the quality of clinical research conducted in Poland, as well as the attractiveness of Poland on the international arena in this area.

Participation in the program provides the opportunity to develop competence in designing and conducting observational and experimental scientific studies, analyzing, interpreting and presenting data from clinical trials, and producing high-quality publications.
The lectures are delivered by experts from Harvard Medical School Postgraduate Medical Education, which ensures a high level of content and up-to-date knowledge transfer. This is an excellent opportunity for program participants to gain valuable skills and experience that can be of great value in their academic and professional work.

The entire program consists of nine specialized modules including advanced biostatistics, epidemiology, epigenetics and epigenomics, as well as advanced clinical research issues and the fundamentals of translational science.

The Medical Research Agency is not only about competitions for non-commercial clinical research. We focus on human resource development in the biomedical sector, because we know that a grant or infrastructure alone is not enough to achieve project success.
Medical experiments and clinical trials require unique competencies of the entire team. We believe that by learning from Harvard Medical School, we are able to take a significant step towards the development of an innovative biomedical sector in Poland,” concludes Rafal Staszewski, MD, PhD - Deputy President for Research Funding at the Medical Research Agency.

“This program provides the skills, knowledge and networks that prepare participants to become independent researchers,”
- said Ajay K. Singh, MBBS, FRCP, MBA, senior associate dean for postgraduate medical education at Harvard Medical School.
“Upon completion of this unique professional learning experience, participants will be prepared to ask advanced research questions, design and implement high-quality research, and publish in high-impact journals.”
